Bachelors Year 3

The objective was to design and construct a remote control for environment control on behalf of Abilia. The purpose with the finished product was to replace the already existing products Control Omni and Control Prog in Abilia’s product-line. The remote was to be developed as an aid for the physically disabled in order to increase their level of independence in everyday life.

The product development process was divided into two categories, hardware and enclosure; where the development of the hardware was carried out in order to optimize the overall dimensions of the electronics in the device. 

 

The user controls their environment using interactive touch screen or scan between the remote control function keys with a control switch.

The bachelor thesis project was finalised in a technical report and physical model.
