I performed my Master thesis together with a classmate at Bombardier Transportation, an innovation project focusing on Investigating and defining use case scenarios where the use of UAVs would create value for railway infrastructure operations and maintenance activities.

 

The project resulted in 15 identified use case scenarios, the filing of three patent applications and the thesis report. The report is meant for both stakeholders in the railway industry to get a better understanding of the capabilities and limitations of UAV technology and at the same time provide recommendations to UAV manufacturers to understand the railway industry and potential UAV applications.
